- Hair coloring and Perms(Safe)-
- Cleaning out the litter box(Unsafe)-Pregnant women should not clean out the litter box during pregnancy because of the risk of becoming infected with toxoplasmosis. Toxoplamosis is spread through cat feces and can cause serious problems such as prematurity, poor growth, and severe eye and brain damage. Pregnant women can become infected, not know it, and still pass it on to their baby. Someone else should clean out the litter box, but if no one is available, use disposable gloves and a painters mask. Also use gloves when working in the yard because there may be feces from neighborhood cats. Be sure to wash your hands with soap and water after either of the above activities.
